How the tebIQ AI medical scribe pilot numbers were measured: internal billing analysis of 37,739 encounters, 7 hospitals. Not peer-reviewed.
The NEMS pilot — numbers and methodology
Where the numbers on the homepage come from, and exactly how each one was measured.
This is an internal analysis of billing data from North East Medicine Specialists (NEMS), tebIQ's first pilot and live customer. It is not peer-reviewed and has not been published in a journal. Period covered: January 2025 – March 2026, across 7 hospitals in Connecticut and 30+ providers (physicians, PAs, and NPs), with 37,739 encounters analyzed. tebIQ-documented encounters were compared against concurrent encounters by non-tebIQ peers in the same group over the same period.
Ratio of improvement between physicians documenting with tebIQ and concurrent non-tebIQ peers, as the metric is defined in the internal NEMS billing analysis.
Sustained percentage-point difference in critical-care (99291) capture versus concurrent peers over 14 months, as measured in the internal NEMS billing analysis.
Share of one physician's charts with critical-care time captured, before and after adopting tebIQ — the highest performer in the cohort.
Difference-in-differences estimate of the shift in E/M level distribution, the most robust statistical finding of the analysis, as measured in the internal NEMS billing analysis.
An ESTIMATE, not a measurement: derived by applying the observed E/M level shift to CMS reimbursement rates for a community ED. Individual results depend on volume, payer mix, and baseline documentation.
All figures come from the same internal NEMS billing analysis; none are projections beyond the revenue estimate labeled as such above. Physicians review and sign every chart — tebIQ documents what happened; it does not decide what to bill.
